Founded in 1995, Helen Piteo Interiors design services range from residential, where work varies from multi-million dollar homes to simply helping clients choose the perfect paint colors, to commercial, healthcare and product procurement. Helen’s work with Toll Brothers Inc., among other builders and developers, for model home and community merchandising has received national awards and merits in the industry. Helen works equally well with architects and construction teams to achieve the best possible results for her clients.

Prior to joining HPI in 2005, Renee Fiorillo received her BFA from the New York School of Interior Design. Renee lived in NYC for many years during which time she worked for accomplished interior designers and architects. Here she developed her space planning skills with a practical vision along with her attention for detail. With more than 20 years’ experience, Renee sees the full potential of each space while transforming clients’ lifestyles and/or commercial spaces into a beautiful haven.
Design, for Renee, is a persistent fascination inspired in early childhood where she learned to sew with her grandmother as well as weld with her father. This recurrent affair with design has provided Renee with an intuitive, deep and unique understanding of the mechanics of design and construction necessary for true quality.
Renee is a local to the Hudson Valley where she was born and raised. She is a wife and mother happily fulfilling her lifelong dream along with her HPI Family.
Kristin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Marist College in 2000. She has gained a wide variety of experience while working closely with Helen Piteo in the interior design industry since 2007. She is involved in all aspects of the process from design development, space planning, product selections to installations.
Kristin’s love of art, color, patterns, textures and materials are passionately expressed in all of her design projects. She is dedicated to creating the perfect flow and seamless design for each individual client by honing in and accentuating their personal style. As a mother of three, Kristin has developed a keen understanding of family friendly design and a love for children’s spaces.

Kristen Smith has been designing with Helen Piteo Interiors since 2008. Kristen’s creative nature and keen attention to detail led her along her journey to earning her BFA in Interior Design from Sage College of Albany. Kristen has always had an interest in spatial planning and brilliant interiors.
These passions and talents have developed Kristen into the accomplished designer she is today. Kristen prides herself on coordinating each phase of a project from conceptualization through completion with the utmost care. A native of the beautiful Hudson Valley, Kristen enjoys kayaking, hiking and traveling with her husband.
Kaitlynn graduated from Cazenovia College in May 2015 with a BFA in Interior Design. In June 2015, Kaitlynn joined the HPI family as a Junior Designer as well as Helen’s assistant. Kaitlynn believes a design can be simple, aesthetically pleasing, and functional while creating stories about the unique elements the user sees.
Kaitlynn is inspired by clean lines, modern architecture, intriguing lighting solutions, and natural materials. She believes it is important to pay attention to all the little details a room possesses, and by doing so, a space truly can come alive. In her free time, Kaitlynn enjoys refinishing furniture and utilizing her photography minor.
Danielle Thone is a Junior Designer with Helen Piteo Interiors (HPI). Danielle joined the HPI team in June 2015 after graduating with an AAS degree in Interior Design from Alfred State College. She has quickly gained the knowledge needed to create a space that is not only inviting but also functional.
Danielle has been a team member for a number of major residential and commercial projects in her time with HPI. Her effort and dedication to the projects contributes to HPI’s team success. Motivation and enthusiasm to the Interior Design profession drives Danielle to continue learning of the industry while designing with the HPI team. In her spare time, Danielle enjoys the outdoors and is a swim coach for a local Hudson Valley swim club.
